Gold is one of the most actively traded assets, but traditional markets close from Friday evening to Sunday evening. Some of the biggest moves often happen during this time, triggered by news that breaks while markets are closed. With Gold 24/7, you can respond to these changes right away.
Introducing Gold 24/7
Gold 24/7 is a CFD instrument on PXTrader 2.0 that lets you trade gold every day, including Saturdays and Sundays. Events that move gold, such as geopolitical tensions, policy changes, or major political news, can happen at any time. Now, you can trade whenever they do.
Why Gold 24/7 matters
When important news breaks over the weekend, the traditional gold market is closed. The price doesn’t change slowly. Instead, it jumps all at once when the market reopens on Sunday evening. If you already had a position, you caught the move. If not, you missed it. With Gold 24/7, you don’t have to wait. You can enter, exit, or adjust your position during the same weekend the news arrives.
Two recent weekends show how much can happen while the regular market is closed. In each case, an account holding 1 standard lot of gold (100 ounces) would have seen a swing of several thousand dollars.
March 2nd, 2026
Between 1 and 2 March 2026, tensions in the Middle East quickly turned into open conflict. On Saturday, the United States and Israel carried out major airstrikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites, starting a full-scale war. In response, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz to foreign ships and launched missiles at Israel and US bases in the Gulf.
Oil prices saw their biggest jump in years, and as the new week began, gold surged about 4,000 pips above Friday’s close. All of this happened over the weekend, while the main gold market was closed. If you were long 1 lot during that move, you would have made about $4,000, mostly before most traders even started their Monday.

June 14th, 2026
The weekend of 14 June 2026 brought very different news, and an even bigger market reaction. After more than three months of fighting, reports came out on Sunday that the United States and Iran had agreed to a ceasefire. This included a 60-day window to finalize a deal, a plan for broader talks, and, most importantly for markets, a way to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and get oil flowing normally again.
This time, the effect was the opposite. During the war, high oil prices had actually held gold back by fueling inflation worries and keeping interest rate expectations high. The ceasefire changed that: oil prices dropped as traders expected supply to return, and gold jumped, opening the week about 5,000 pips higher. If you were long 1 lot, that meant a gain of about $5,000, and once again, the news broke on a Sunday, not a Monday.

Why it is important
The point isn’t that every weekend brings a big trade. It’s that gold’s biggest moves, from geopolitical events to ceasefires or policy changes, often happen when the market is closed, and until now you couldn’t act. This can work for or against you: a 4,000 to 5,000 pip gap in the wrong direction is just as significant. That’s why being able to react and manage risk in real time is important. Gold 24/7 gives you that control, using the same platform and account you already have.
The figures above are examples based on gold price movements around these dates. Your actual results will depend on when you enter or exit and your position size.
