Amazon shares are quickly 12% higher in after-hours trading after the company posted a stronger-than-expected earnings report. The gain followed revenue of $200.6 billion, above the $196.72 billion analysts had expected.
Operating income for the period came in at $22.5 billion. Earnings per share reached $5.75, though InvestingLive cautioned that figure may not be a proper comparison to the $1.62 estimate it cited.
Free cash flow, however, stayed negative at $7.6 billion over the trailing 12 months, which InvestingLive tied to heavy spending.
