AMD is scheduled to report fiscal third-quarter 2026 results on November 3, with analysts expecting revenue of around $13.08 billion. The report arrives as credit stress in AI infrastructure and Anthropic's IPO filing weigh on sentiment. AMD sells AI hardware, while the strained names borrow to build capacity.

Advanced Micro Devices is scheduled to report fiscal third-quarter 2026 results on November 3, and analysts expect revenue of around $13.08 billion. The report lands while parts of the AI trade show strain, including credit markets tied to data center buildouts and some sliding infrastructure stocks.

AMD's data center business drives the setup

The setup comes from a strong second quarter. AMD posted Q2 2026 revenue of $11.54 billion, a 50% increase from a year earlier, with net income of $2.3 billion.

The Data Center segment led the way. Its revenue more than doubled year over year to $6.7 billion, more than half of the company's total sales. EPYC server processors and Instinct AI graphics processing units drove the bulk of that growth.

The roughly $13.08 billion consensus for Q3 sits more than $1.5 billion above the Q2 figure. CNBC identified AMD as a strong growth stock heading into the print and recommended an options strategy designed to limit downside risk.

Credit stress and the Anthropic filing

Meanwhile, the pressure is showing up first in the bond market. Yields on one AI infrastructure borrower's 2032 notes touched 15%, a level typically associated with borrowers investors consider genuinely risky.

A credit default swap works like an insurance policy against a borrower failing to pay its debts, so a wider spread means the insurance got more expensive. Spreads for the same name nearly doubled in October.

In equities, IREN, an AI infrastructure operator, is down more than 60% over the past year. Anthropic filed its S-1 registration for a Nasdaq IPO on October 26, 2026, and reported first-half 2026 revenue of $16.3 billion alongside a net loss of $80.7 billion.

Why AMD sits on the selling side

Chipmakers like AMD collect revenue when customers place orders. Data center developers, by contrast, often take on significant debt upfront and bet that demand will fill the buildings later, so rising borrowing costs squeeze the builders first.

For AMD, the risk is indirect. If financing pressure forces data center operators to slow expansion, fewer servers get built, and fewer EPYC and Instinct chips get ordered. So far, AMD's Q2 numbers do not show that slowdown.

On November 3, investors will likely care more about the Data Center line than the headline revenue number. Its pace will say a lot about real AI demand.
