Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has denied reports that he submitted a resignation letter, telling state television he intends to stay in office despite pressure from hardline factions and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. A prediction market tracking his potential departure moved higher in the week before his statement, and his denial could now prompt a re-evaluation of that pricing.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has rejected rumors that he resigned, affirming in a scheduled state television interview that he will remain in his role. The denial responds to earlier reports that tied his position to internal friction with hardline factions and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

State-aligned media and Iranian officials have consistently denied any change in Pezeshkian's status, portraying the presidency as stable. Yet prediction markets had already moved to price in doubt about his tenure before he spoke out.

A prediction market tracking Pezeshkian's potential departure by December 31 showed a 19% probability of a "yes" outcome, up from 14% the previous week; the increase may reflect the earlier speculation. His latest declaration could prompt a re-evaluation of those odds in the coming months, since his reaffirmation appears consistent with a lower perceived probability of departure.

State media coverage and any further comments from Ayatollah Ali Khamenei or IRGC leaders are the next signals traders are watching. For now, market participants are reading Pezeshkian's own statement as the clearest sign yet of stability, set against Iran's broader geopolitical risk.
