JPMorgan Chase's market value reached approximately $937B in late July 2026, exceeding what Bank of America, Citigroup and Wells Fargo are worth combined. A record $21.2B second-quarter profit drove the stock to record highs and pushed the bank toward a $1 trillion valuation.
JPMorgan Chase's market capitalization reached approximately $937B in late July 2026, a figure that exceeds the combined market valuations of Bank of America, Citigroup and Wells Fargo. Together, the three next-largest U.S. banks are worth less than JPMorgan on its own.
The immediate catalyst was a second-quarter earnings release on July 15, 2026. JPMorgan posted net income of $21.2B for Q2 2026, the highest quarterly profit ever reported by a U.S. bank.
Investors moved on the print. The stock climbed to record highs after the announcement, pushing the bank's total valuation toward the $1 trillion threshold.
The rivals sit far behind. Bank of America's market cap stood at roughly $435B in mid-2026. Wells Fargo came in around $261B. Citigroup clocked in near $222B. Added together, the three land somewhere in the neighborhood of $918B — still short of JPMorgan alone.
This lead is not new, however. JPMorgan's market value first crossed above the combined total of its three largest rivals during the first half of 2025, and the gap has widened rather than narrowed in the year-plus since.
Jamie Dimon has run JPMorgan since 2005, and the operational consistency over two decades has produced a balance sheet and earnings profile that peers have found genuinely difficult to replicate.
