Melius Research lowered its Nvidia target to $315 and its Marvell Technology target to $300. The Nvidia cut follows a $420 target the firm's analyst held in August, while Marvell's target sits at the bottom of the range other firms set in October.
Melius Research cut its Nvidia price target to $315 and its Marvell Technology target to $300. Both are among the most closely watched names in AI hardware.
Nvidia target drops from $420
As of August 27, 2026, Melius analyst Ben Reitzes held a Buy rating on Nvidia with a $420 price target. The move to $315 therefore lowers the firm's valuation by more than $100 a share in a matter of months.
A lower price target is not a downgrade. Nothing in the announcement indicates Melius changed its rating on either company.
Marvell's target swings again
Melius's Marvell coverage has moved in both directions. In May 2025, the firm downgraded Marvell to Hold with a $66 target, citing a slower ramp in custom silicon.
Then Melius reversed course. It upgraded Marvell to Buy with a $135 target in January 2026 and lifted that target to $220 in June 2026.
Other firms are more optimistic on Marvell
On Marvell, Melius is moving against a more optimistic current. In October 2026, other firms raised their Marvell targets into a range of $300 to $400, which puts the new Melius figure at the bottom edge of that range.
Those increases followed Marvell's investor day, where guidance pointed to promising revenue expectations for fiscal 2028. Interconnect growth was a central driver of that outlook.
Investors tracking Marvell can watch how the company delivers against its fiscal 2028 targets from that event.
