Tesla's Robotaxi ride-hailing service opens to riders in Fort Worth on Monday, its fourth Texas city. The launch follows a larger Houston service area and longer operating hours. Tesla has not said how many vehicles will serve the new city or what rides will cost.
Tesla says its Robotaxi service opens to riders in Fort Worth on Monday, adding a fourth Texas city after Austin, Dallas and Houston. The company announced the launch on Sunday night from its official Robotaxi account, saying rides start at 6 AM Monday.
A single zone centered on downtown
The launch map shows one zone centered on downtown Fort Worth. It reaches north toward Saginaw, west past White Settlement and southwest toward Benbrook, while its eastern edge runs near Haltom City and Forest Hill.
Fort Worth also gives Tesla a second foothold in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, which the source describes as one of the largest metro regions in the US. A recent tally put the company's Texas Robotaxi roster at 1,204 vehicles, split between 631 Model Ys and 573 Cybercabs. On the same Texas ledger, Waymo sits slightly ahead at 1,259 registered vehicles.
Houston expansion and longer hours
The launch comes after a busy stretch for the Texas network. On October 26, Tesla switched on a much larger Houston geofence, and a rider later logged a 74-mile round trip across the expanded map for $133.25.
Tesla also extended Robotaxi hours to a 6 AM to 2 AM window. It shipped Calm Mode, trip sharing with a friend, a rear-view camera feed during rides and accessibility upgrades such as haptic feedback. New riders in Dallas and Houston have also seen a $0 first-ride offer in the app.
On Tesla's Q3 call in October, AI software lead Ashok Elluswamy said Robotaxi would soon run until 2 AM and pointed to around-the-clock rides by year end.
Open questions on the Fort Worth launch
Tesla's Fort Worth post doesn't say how many vehicles will serve the city at launch, whether rides there will have a safety monitor on board, or whether the Fort Worth and Dallas zones will eventually connect. It also didn't share pricing or say whether the free first-ride offer applies to the new city.
