Tesla reintroduces its all-electric, heavy-duty Semi truck on Thursday evening, nearly nine years after CEO Elon Musk first promised the vehicle. The event opens a new factory in Sparks, Nevada, dedicated to building the Semi, and comes days after a shipping collective placed what was called the largest electric-truck order ever made in the U.S.
Tesla is set to reintroduce its all-electric, heavy-duty truck to investors on Thursday evening, nearly nine years after Musk first promised the vehicle. At the event, the company plans to inaugurate its Sparks, Nevada, factory dedicated to making the Semi, with the "Semi Rollout" scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Eastern time.
Unlike the Cybercab event Tesla hosted in Texas earlier this month, the Semi Rollout will be livestreamed. The rollout follows news that a shipping collective said it would buy 2,500 of the trucks, in what it called the largest electric-truck order ever placed in the U.S.
