Strategy Inc (MSTR) Earnings Date: Strategy Q3 2026 Report Time, Bitcoin Holdings and Stock Reaction

Strategy has already told the market the biggest number in its next report. On October 5 the company estimated a $20.91 billion gain on its bitcoin for the third quarter. The full results follow on Thursday, October 29, 2026, after the US market close, with a live webinar at 5:00 p.m. ET. Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) confirmed the date on October 8.

So the MSTR earnings date matters less for the headline profit than for everything around it: how the company funds itself, what it pays its preferred holders, and where bitcoin trades that evening.

Next MSTR earnings date

Strategy’s October 8 announcement says it will report third-quarter 2026 results after US markets close on October 29 and host a live video webinar. The company’s X account gave the start time: 5:00 p.m. ET, streamed on Zoom, X and YouTube.

Some calendars still show an unconfirmed date or a November estimate. The company’s own release is the one to trust.

What time does Strategy report earnings?

The release comes after the close and the webinar starts an hour later, so the first reaction happens in after-hours trading. New York is on daylight saving time (UTC−4) on October 29; US clocks change on November 1.

Bitcoin does not stop trading overnight. Between the webinar and Friday’s open, BTC has more than 16 hours to move, and MSTR will open wherever bitcoin has taken it.

Strategy earnings calendar: past and upcoming dates

Strategy marks its bitcoin to market every quarter, so its profit or loss is mostly the change in the bitcoin price between two quarter-end dates. The software business adds about $120 million of revenue a quarter. The bitcoin line adds or subtracts billions.

Quarter Report date Revenue Net income Diluted EPS BTC held (as of)

All figures come from Strategy’s earnings releases filed with the SEC (Q3 2025, Q4 2025, Q1 2026, Q2 2026) and the October 5, 2026 8-K.

Strategy’s bitcoin holdings today

As of October 18, 2026, Strategy held 848,517 BTC, bought for a total of $64.02 billion, or $75,446 per coin including fees, according to its October 19 filing. That week it bought 267 BTC for $22.1 million, paid for almost entirely by selling $22 million of MSTR stock.

At bitcoin’s October 19 close of about $81,850 (Yahoo Finance data), the stack was worth roughly $69.5 billion, about $5.4 billion above cost. The holdings have grown about 26% this year from 672,500 BTC at the end of 2025.

The pace has slowed. Strategy added 1,666 BTC in the whole of Q3 and 851 more in the first 18 days of October. In Q2 it added about 84,000. Strategy updates the count most Mondays in an 8-K and on the dashboard at strategy.com, so check the latest figure before the report. For context on the size of this position, see who owns the most bitcoin.

What the market already knows about Q3

Most companies’ earnings are a surprise. Strategy’s headline mostly is not. In the October 5 8-K it estimated, unaudited:

  • a $20.91 billion gain on digital assets for the quarter;
  • $1.88 billion of deferred tax expense, after releasing a $4.12 billion valuation allowance;
  • a $70.82 billion carrying value for its bitcoin at September 30.

The arithmetic is simple. Bitcoin closed the second quarter near $58,560 and the third near $83,550, a 42.7% rise (Yahoo Finance daily closes). Divide the $70.82 billion carrying value by 847,666 BTC and you get the same $83,500 or so per coin. After three straight quarterly losses, Strategy is set to report a large profit.

Why the EPS consensus is close to useless

Analyst forecasts for Strategy are a poor benchmark because few of them model bitcoin’s quarter-end price the same way. For Q4 2025 the Zacks consensus called for EPS of $46.02. Strategy reported a loss of $42.93. For Q3 2026, MarketBeat listed a single analyst estimate of $26.16 on October 20, with no consensus revenue figure. A “beat” or “miss” against numbers like these says little. The EPS line will mostly repeat what the October 5 filing already disclosed.

What can move MSTR stock on the report

If the profit is known, the release and the webinar are about funding. Four things are worth reading closely.

Bitcoin itself

MSTR moves on bitcoin first. In Q3 bitcoin rose 42.7% and MSTR rose 76.1%, from $86.93 to $153.09. Since September 30 the gap has run the other way: by October 19 bitcoin was 2% lower and MSTR 11.2% lower, at $136.02. When the stock falls faster than the coin, the premium investors pay over the value of Strategy’s bitcoin is shrinking. Strategy publishes that ratio, mNAV, on its dashboard; compare it with the net asset value per share before and after the call.

Share sales and buybacks

Strategy funds bitcoin purchases by selling stock through at-the-market programs. As of October 18 it still had $18.79 billion of MSTR common stock available to sell and $1.0 billion left under an MSTR buyback program it has not yet used. Selling common stock when MSTR trades close to the value of its bitcoin dilutes bitcoin per share, so management’s comments on when it sells and when it buys back matter more than the income statement.

STRC and the preferred dividends

The preferred stack is now the main funding story. STRC, the variable-rate preferred, pays 12% a year, and management has said it will recommend keeping that rate until STRC trades steadily near $100. In the week to October 18 Strategy bought back $193.1 million of STRC and raised its repurchase authorization for preferred shares from $2.0 billion to $3.0 billion. A special stockholder meeting on October 28, the day before earnings, votes on moving STRC and some other preferred shares to daily dividend record dates, according to the September 30 8-K.

Cash, debt and bitcoin sales

Strategy held a $4.83 billion USD Reserve for dividends and interest, plus $447.3 million of general cash, on October 18. Convertible debt was $6.7 billion after an 18% reduction in Q2. In 2026, through July 26, Strategy also sold $218.4 million of bitcoin to fund part of its preferred dividends. Any change in that policy, in either direction, is the kind of detail the stock reacts to.

The same day as the stockholder meeting, the Federal Reserve announces its rate decision at 2:00 p.m. ET. Alphabet reports that evening too (see the Alphabet earnings date page). By the time Strategy speaks, risk appetite may already have shifted.

How MSTR stock reacts to earnings

The table compares MSTR’s close on report day with the next session’s close, next to bitcoin’s move over roughly the same day.

Report MSTR close, report day MSTR close, next day MSTR move BTC move, same day
Q3 2025 (Oct 30, 2025) $254.57 $269.51 +5.9% +1.2%
Q4 2025 (Feb 5, 2026) $106.99 $134.93 +26.1% +12.5%
Q1 2026 (May 5, 2026) $186.90 $186.82 0% +0.6%
Q2 2026 (Jul 30, 2026) $97.74 $93.28 −4.6% −3.0%

Source: Yahoo Finance daily closes; bitcoin closes are UTC daily, so the BTC column is an approximation of the same window.

In each of the four, MSTR moved in the same direction as bitcoin, by a larger amount. The February case is the extreme one. Strategy reported a $12.4 billion loss on a day when bitcoin had fallen to about $62,700; the next day bitcoin bounced 12.5% and MSTR jumped 26.1%. The loss did not matter. The coin did.

No reliable options-implied move for the October 30 expiry had been published as of October 20. The implied volatility on the at-the-money straddle, checked on the day, gives the market’s own estimate.

How to prepare for Strategy earnings

  1. Put the right time in your calendar. Results after 4:00 p.m. ET on October 29, webinar at 5:00 p.m. ET. Note the October 28 stockholder meeting and Fed decision the day before.
  2. Read the October 5 8-K first. The quarter’s profit is roughly known. Treat a large GAAP profit as expected, not as news.
  3. Track bitcoin, not the EPS line. Watch the BTC/USD price through the evening. The next morning’s open will reflect it.
  4. Listen for funding news. Common stock sales, STRC buybacks and dividends, any further bitcoin sales, and the mNAV trend are what the webinar adds.
  5. Plan for the gap. With a 26% one-day move in the last four reports, MSTR can open far from Thursday’s close. A stop order does not protect you from a price gap; size the position for it.

Trading Strategy earnings on PrimeXBT

PrimeXBT offers Strategy as a share CFD, so you can take a long or short position on MSTR around the report from the same account used for crypto, forex and indices, without owning the shares. That also makes it possible to trade MSTR and bitcoin side by side, which is how this stock behaves anyway. A CFD carries the same gap risk as the stock: if MSTR opens 10% lower on October 30, a long position opens 10% lower too. Follow the Strategy share price chart into the release and check current trading conditions on the platform before you size a trade. If the product is new to you, start with how CFD trading works.

The one figure Strategy cannot pre-announce is the price of bitcoin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
