Supermicro has a habit that changes how you trade its results: it often tells the market its revenue before earnings day. Ahead of its next report, the date to watch is Tuesday, November 3, 2026, after the US close. That is the date earnings calendars project for Super Micro Computer’s (SMCI) fiscal Q1 2027 results, though as of October 20 the company had not confirmed it. Last year the confirmation came in a preliminary business update that also cut the quarter’s revenue estimate, 12 days before the call.
Fiscal Q1 2027 covers July to September 2026, because Supermicro’s fiscal year ends on June 30. The last four reports moved the stock by 11% to 25% on the next session.
Next Supermicro earnings date
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Quarter | Q1 fiscal 2027 (July 1 to September 30, 2026) |
| Expected date | Tuesday, November 3, 2026 (projected by MarketBeat, TipRanks and Wall Street Horizon; not confirmed by the company as of October 20) |
| Results published | After the 4:00 p.m. ET Nasdaq close |
| Conference call | 5:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. PT, the slot used for each of the last four reports |
| Where to find it | Press release and webcast on ir.supermicro.com; the release is also filed with the SEC as an 8-K |
| Ticker | SMCI (Nasdaq) |
| First regular session to react | Wednesday, November 4, 2026 (if the projected date holds) |
MarketChameleon gives a wider window of November 3 to 6. The projection rests on habit: Supermicro reported on a Tuesday in each of the last four quarters (November 4, 2025, then February 3, May 5 and August 11, 2026). November 3, 2026 is also US midterm election day, so the report could land in an evening already crowded with headlines.
How Supermicro announces the date
Watch for a “preliminary business update”. On October 23, 2025, Supermicro scheduled its November 4 call in a release that also cut estimated quarterly revenue to $5bn from guidance of $6bn to $7bn. On July 21, 2026, it set the August 11 call the same way and said Q4 revenue would come in near the low end of guidance while gross margin would beat it by a wide margin.
So the date announcement can move the stock before the report does. Supermicro’s most recent SEC filing as of October 20, an 8-K dated October 15, concerned a change of CFO and said nothing about results timing.
What time does Supermicro report earnings?
Results come out after the close and the call starts an hour later, at 5:00 p.m. ET. US clocks go back on November 1, so New York is on UTC−5 by November 3. The times below assume the projected date.
| Location | Results published (around) | Conference call | Next cash session opens |
|---|---|---|---|
| New York (ET) | 4:00 p.m., Nov 3 | 5:00 p.m., Nov 3 | 9:30 a.m., Nov 4 |
| UTC | 21:00, Nov 3 | 22:00, Nov 3 | 14:30, Nov 4 |
| South Africa (SAST) | 23:00, Nov 3 | 00:00, Nov 4 | 16:30, Nov 4 |
| Pakistan (PKT) | 02:00, Nov 4 | 03:00, Nov 4 | 19:30, Nov 4 |
| India (IST) | 02:30, Nov 4 | 03:30, Nov 4 | 20:00, Nov 4 |
The first reaction happens in after-hours trading, where volume is thin and early moves can reverse. In August, SMCI was up about 6% after hours and closed the next day 19% higher.
Supermicro’s fiscal year, quarter by quarter
Supermicro’s fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30, so its quarter labels sit about half a year ahead of the calendar. “Fiscal 2027” started in July 2026. This trips up anyone comparing SMCI with Nvidia, whose fiscal year ends in late January.
| Fiscal quarter | Months covered | Usual report timing |
|---|---|---|
| Q1 | July to September | Early November |
| Q2 | October to December | Early February |
| Q3 | January to March | Early May |
| Q4 and full year | April to June | Early to mid August, with the 10-K by the end of August |
The fiscal 2026 10-K was filed with the SEC on August 31, 2026, 20 days after the Q4 release.

Revenue, EPS and gross margin come from Supermicro’s earnings releases filed with the SEC (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4); gross margin is the GAAP figure. Next-session moves are from TipRanks, with the November 2025 close from Finviz.
Read the last column against the revenue column and a pattern shows up. SMCI rose after both the May and August reports even though revenue missed analyst forecasts each time. In May, sales of $10.2bn were about $2bn short of the roughly $12.3bn consensus, and the stock still gained 24.5% because gross margin of 10.1% (non-GAAP) beat estimates of about 6.75%, according to Yahoo Finance. For this stock, margin and outlook have outranked the top line.
Q1 fiscal 2027 guidance vs consensus
| Benchmark | Revenue | Non-GAAP EPS | Gross margin |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supermicro guidance (Aug 11, 2026) | $14.5bn to $15.5bn | $1.01 to $1.10 | 10.4% to 10.8% |
| Benzinga consensus (October 2026) | $14.93bn | $1.02 | n/a |
| ChartMill consensus, 20 analysts (October 2026) | $14.95bn | $1.06 | n/a |
| Q1 FY2026 actual, for comparison | $5.0bn | $0.35 | 9.3% |
Revenue and EPS guidance are from the Q4 release; GAAP EPS guidance is $0.89 to $0.98. The gross-margin range was given on the call and comes from Zacks coverage on Nasdaq.com. TipRanks puts consensus EPS at $1.04.
Two things stand out. First, analysts sit just below the midpoint on revenue, so a result at the guided midpoint of $15bn would be roughly three times the $5.0bn of a year earlier and still count as a beat. Second, look at the margin line. Supermicro guided gross margin back down to about 10.6% at the midpoint, from 17.5% in Q4. According to the Zacks summary, CFO David Weigand attributed about three-quarters of the Q4 jump to customer and product mix and the rest to lower tariff costs and inventory reserves that may not repeat. A quarter with margin above 11% would tell you some of the Q4 mix has stuck; one at the low end would confirm the reset. The gross margin entry explains why a server maker’s margin is so sensitive to who its customers are.
What could move SMCI stock on earnings day
Whether the $65bn to $72bn year still holds
In August, Supermicro guided fiscal 2027 revenue to $65bn to $72bn, against $39.1bn in fiscal 2026. Bloomberg’s consensus was $54.4bn at the time, according to Quartz via Yahoo Finance. Do the arithmetic on the guidance: if Q1 lands at $15bn, the remaining three quarters need $50bn to $57bn, or about $16.7bn to $19bn per quarter. Any trim to the annual range would weigh more than the Q1 numbers themselves.
The backlog and how firm it is
Supermicro said it took more than $60bn of new orders in its June quarter and entered fiscal 2027 with record backlog. Its own July filing cautioned that some of those orders “may not constitute firm commitments” and could be cancelled or delayed. Conversion of that backlog into shipped revenue is the core of the bull case, and the Q2 revenue guide will show how fast it is happening.
Its record against its own guidance
Supermicro’s guidance has been a range of outcomes rather than a floor. Over fiscal 2026, Q1 revenue came in below its range ($5.0bn against $6bn to $7bn), Q2 came in above it ($12.7bn against $10bn to $11bn), Q3 fell short of “at least $12.3bn” at $10.2bn, and Q4 landed at the low end. Timing of large AI rack deliveries explains most of the swings, which is why a single quarter can look weak while the year stays on track.
Cash flow
Building servers for hyperscale customers ties up cash in inventory. Operations used $6.6bn of cash in Q3, then generated $747m in Q4. Cash stood at $7.5bn on June 30 against $8.7bn of bank debt and convertible notes. A return to heavy cash burn on a tripling of sales would raise questions about funding.
A new CFO and the export-control case
On October 14, the board appointed Mark Long, a former Western Digital CFO, as chief financial officer, replacing David Weigand, according to the company’s 8-K. This should be Long’s first earnings call in the role, and any change in how guidance is framed will get attention.
The legal overhang is lighter than in spring. On August 20 Supermicro said its board-led investigation found no evidence that current senior management knew of an alleged $2.5bn scheme to ship servers with Nvidia chips to China, Fortune reported. Co-founder Wally Liaw, indicted in March, has pleaded not guilty, and his trial is set for March 2027. Analysts may still ask about compliance costs or any effect on customers.
The read-across with Nvidia
Supermicro builds systems around Nvidia and AMD accelerators, so its comments on GPU supply and new platform ramps feed straight into expectations for Nvidia’s own quarterly report, due later in the season. The read-across also runs the other way: SMCI often trades on Nvidia’s numbers. If you follow the chip group, the Intel earnings date page covers another chipmaker reporting a few days earlier, on October 29.
How SMCI has reacted to earnings
The average next-session move over the last four reports was about 17% in either direction (11.5%, 13.8%, 24.5% and 19%). Moves of that size make a single report one of the biggest scheduled risks of the quarter for SMCI holders, even during a crowded earnings season.
Two things drive the size. The preliminary update can take the revenue surprise out of the report, which leaves margin and guidance to do the work, as in May and August. And SMCI trades at around $32 to $33 (MarketChameleon’s last price in October was $32.58), down from $47.40 before the November 2025 report, with a MarketBeat average analyst rating of Hold. A stock that the market doubts reacts hard when a number surprises.
Past moves do not predict the next one. In November 2025 the revenue miss was already known from the October update, and the stock still fell 11.5% as the EPS outlook of $0.46 to $0.54 trailed the 61-cent estimate cited by Barron’s.
How to prepare for the Supermicro report
- Check ir.supermicro.com and SEC filings in the last week of October for the business update and the confirmed date. If revenue is pre-announced, re-anchor expectations on margin and the Q2 guide.
- Write down the three numbers that matter before the release: gross margin against 10.4% to 10.8%, the Q2 fiscal 2027 revenue guide, and whether the $65bn to $72bn annual range is reiterated.
- Expect spreads to widen in after-hours trading and around the open on November 4. The last four reports produced next-session moves of 11% to 25%, and position size is the main lever you have over what a move like that does to an account.
- Listen to the call, not just the release. In February and August the move into the next session was larger than the first after-hours reaction.
- Keep Nvidia’s report date in view. If you are holding SMCI exposure through both, you carry two event risks within a few weeks.
