Alphabet's latest bond sale drew demand reportedly reaching $115 billion, the newest sign of Wall Street's rush into AI-linked corporate debt. The offering follows Google parent's guidance for as much as $205 billion in 2026 capital spending and comes weeks after SpaceX's own oversubscribed bond deal.
Alphabet's newest bond offering has drawn demand reportedly reaching $115 billion, extending a run of oversized investor appetite for debt tied to artificial intelligence spending. The frenzy follows SpaceX's own blockbuster bond deal, which left many institutional investors empty-handed.
Google's parent company has guided capital spending for 2026 in a range of $175 billion to $205 billion, a figure driven almost entirely by AI infrastructure investment. This is not Alphabet's first trip to the bond market this year, either.
Earlier in 2026, Alphabet issued a multi-tranche bond worth around $20 billion that saw demand significantly exceed supply. Before that, a $17.5 billion issuance attracted roughly $90 billion in orders.
Much of the current frenzy traces back to SpaceX. Elon Musk's rocket company launched its inaugural $25 billion investment-grade bond offering in June 2026. That deal pulled in between $85 billion and $89 billion in orders, so oversubscribed that many major institutional investors were allocated far less than they wanted, or nothing at all.
The broader dynamic, AI-driven bond issuance across major tech firms, is expected to substantially reshape the 2026 investment-grade supply landscape.
