Binance will end all services for Epic Chain (EPIC) and QuickSwap (QUICK). The news has already hurt both coins, with EPIC down 15% in a single day and QUICK down 22%.
Binance's decision to end all services for Epic Chain (EPIC) and QuickSwap (QUICK) has already negatively affected both coins. EPIC plunged 15% in a single day, while QUICK slipped 22%.
How the delisting will unfold
Binance will remove both assets from its Copy Trading section on October 21. Spot trading services follow a week later, and the actual delisting is scheduled for October 28.
Users keep some access beyond that date. After October 29, deposits of these tokens will not be credited to accounts, but withdrawals will be supported until December 28.
Why Binance pulled the tokens
The exchange said it regularly evaluates each listed cryptocurrency against its criteria. Binance considers trading volume, adequate liquidity, the team's commitment to the project, network security against attacks, and development activity, among other factors. According to Binance: "we conduct a more in-depth review and potentially delist it."
Such delisting announcements usually negatively impact the price of the affected coins. Because Binance remains the largest crypto exchange, withdrawing support can damage an asset's reputation, reduce its liquidity, and limit its availability.
A repeat of August
Something similar happened in August, when Binance delisted Across Protocol (ACX), Hashflow (HFT), PIVX (PIVX), Vulcan Forged PYR (PYR), Vanar (VANRY), and Viction (VIC). Those tokens suffered double-digit price declines.
Separately, Binance will briefly suspend key operations on the Ethereum (ETH) network for wallet maintenance.
