Binance will briefly suspend deposits and withdrawals on September 22 to carry out an infrastructure wallet upgrade. The exchange says the pause should last about an hour and will not affect token trading. The move follows a pattern of similar short maintenance windows and comes days after Binance disclosed a new round of trading-pair delistings.
Users should prepare for a brief interruption to deposits and withdrawals at the start of next week, with normal service expected to resume once the system is stable.
Wallet Upgrade Behind the Pause
Binance announced it will perform an infrastructure wallet upgrade on September 22, temporarily halting deposits and withdrawals to support the process. The exchange said token trading will not be impacted during the maintenance and that operations will return to normal once the system is deemed stable.
A Familiar Maintenance Pattern
Such pauses are frequent for Binance and typically pass without disruption. Earlier this summer, the exchange briefly halted Bitcoin deposits and withdrawals for wallet maintenance. Before that, it paused the same operations on the Ethereum blockchain. Other networks affected by similar support work have included Cardano, BNB Chain, and Tron, among others. These outages have lasted from minutes to a few hours, with no reports of major issues or user complaints.
Delistings Add to a Busy Week
The upcoming maintenance follows a separate announcement just days earlier, in which Binance disclosed it would remove several cross-margin and spot trading pairs, including ENJ/USDC, GENIUS/USDC, CVX/USDC, and VANA/USDC on cross-margin, plus BREV/USDC, COOKIE/USDC, LA/USDC, and QNT/USDC on spot. Those delistings were scheduled for September 18.
