Binance US is reportedly seeking up to $100 million at a valuation of approximately $1 billion, far below the $4.5 billion pre-money valuation of its 2022 round. The exchange wants to expand its U.S. business, including prediction markets and more states. Bloomberg's reporting has not been publicly confirmed by Binance US.
Binance US is seeking up to $100 million at a valuation of approximately $1 billion, according to a Bloomberg report. Bloomberg cites a person familiar with the confidential discussions on the private funding round.
Valuation falls to roughly a quarter of its 2022 level
In April 2022, Binance US secured more than $200 million in seed financing at a $4.5 billion pre-money valuation. The new target is roughly a quarter of that figure.
The reset follows years of trouble. The Securities and Exchange Commission sued Binance-related entities and founder Changpeng Zhao in June 2023, banking relationships deteriorated, and trading activity contracted. The SEC later dismissed its lawsuit with prejudice in May 2025. Separately, CoinGape reports that the valuation dropped after the exchange settled with the Department of Justice over anti-money laundering charges.
Expansion plans center on new products and more states
Under CEO Stephen Gregory, appointed in March 2026, the exchange has pursued zero maker fees and taker fees as low as 0.02%. Management has also discussed expanding across all 50 states, pursuing derivatives licenses, and exploring perpetual futures and prediction markets.
CoinGape adds that Binance US is reportedly looking to restore certain state money transmitter licenses. It is also considering tapping external liquidity, including from its global arm.
The competition is established. Coinbase and Kraken already command established American customer bases, according to Bitcoin News.
World Liberty Financial stays out as the DOJ probe continues
Trump-backed World Liberty Financial reportedly won't participate in the round despite being aware of it. Binance holds a large share of World Liberty Financial's USD1 stablecoin supply, CoinGape reports.
The fundraise also comes as the DOJ probes the exchange's compliance with the 2023 settlement deal. Binance US has not publicly confirmed Bloomberg's reporting.
