U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs logged an eighth straight day of net inflows on Wednesday, pushing August's total past $3 billion. Ether ETFs matched the eight-day streak, while XRP and Solana funds also drew fresh money, even as bitcoin ETFs remain net negative for 2026.
U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs took in about $232 million on Wednesday, an eighth consecutive session of net buying. The run has now pulled roughly $2.8 billion into the funds, according to SoSoValue.
BlackRock's IBIT is absorbing the bulk of the buying, taking around 62% of Monday's total. The fund also pulled in about $1.3 billion last week.
Ether and altcoin funds match the streak
Ether ETFs are on the same eight-day count, adding about $192 million Wednesday and taking their own streak past $1 billion. The smaller altcoin products followed the same direction, with XRP funds drawing $28 million and Solana $9 million.
August becomes the strongest month of the year
August inflows for the bitcoin funds now sit above $3 billion, already the strongest month of 2026 and roughly double what April managed. Net assets closed Tuesday just above $99 billion, up from about $77 billion in mid-August. However, most of that $22 billion gain came from price rather than fresh money arriving.
Bitcoin funds still net negative for the year
The run has not repaired the year. Bitcoin ETFs remain net negative for 2026 by roughly $2.5 billion, meaning August has clawed back a little more than half of what left the funds between May and July.
Three trading sessions are left in the month. Another $160 million or so would push August past October 2025 and make it the biggest inflow month since the products' peak demand stretch.
