Bitcoin's hashprice jumped 20.41% over four days, pushing miner revenue to $38.29 per petahash per second, the best level since May. The rally is easing months of tight margins for miners, even as August's total revenue still trails July's haul.
Bitcoin's hashprice climbed from $31.80 per petahash per second (PH/s) on Aug. 18 to $38.29 PH/s on Saturday, Aug. 22, a 20.41% jump in four days. Hashprice measures how much revenue a miner earns per unit of hashrate, and the latest climb marks the strongest level miners have seen since May.
Miner Revenue Rebounds
The jump follows Bitcoin's latest price rally, which has loosened the squeeze on mining margins after a stretch of tighter conditions.
At today's hashprice, a Bitmain Antminer S23 Hydro 3U producing 1.16 PH/s can pull in an estimated $17.86 in daily profit while paying $0.10 per kilowatt-hour for electricity. Bitdeer's Sealminer A4 Ultra Hydro, with 886 terahash per second of processing power, earns an estimated $13.75 per day under the same power costs. Machines from MicroBT and Canaan are also turning steady profits where electricity is cheaper.
Difficulty Looks Set to Ease
Block times are running slightly above the 10-minute average, at 10 minutes and 5 seconds, and at that pace, today's difficulty adjustment is projected to drop a percentage point, a further tailwind for miner economics.
Hashrate Nears 1 Zettahash as Pools Expand
133 mining pools are now dedicating hashrate to the network. Foundry USA leads with 214.73 exahash per second (EH/s), ahead of Antpool at 156.17 EH/s and F2pool at 110.62 EH/s. ViaBTC follows in fourth with 91.02 EH/s, while Secpool and Spiderpool are tied for fifth at roughly 65.07 EH/s each. Total network hashrate has risen to near 922 EH/s, up from below 900 EH/s, putting the network within reach of 1 zettahash.
Even so, miners have collected $682.69 million from block subsidies and fees so far in August, including $5.14 million from transaction fees, still trailing the $875 million miners hauled in during July. Miners have faced a bear market since Bitcoin slid from its all-time high just above $126,000 in October 2025, and this week's rally has finally loosened the squeeze on their margins.
