Bitcoin rallied to $86,500 on Sunday, up 8.57% over the past month, as Ethereum and most of the top ten cryptocurrencies turned green. Spot Bitcoin ETFs extended a two-day inflow streak while altcoins such as Pump.fun and LayerZero outpaced the broader market, and Bitcoin's four-year cycle pattern would bottom today based on a 364-day timeline.
Bitcoin rallied to $86,500 on Sunday, up 2.07% on the day and 8.57% over the past month. Ethereum reached $2,720, up 11.05% in thirty days, as nearly every asset in the top ten turned green. October is living up to its nickname of "Uptober" so far.
Bitcoin ETFs extend a two-day inflow streak
Spot Bitcoin ETF funds added $31.7 million in a single day and $102.7 million on Thursday, pushing the month's total to $134.4 million. That marks a two-day streak, following a $148.7 million outflow when September closed.
The quietest week for ETF flows in a month is also the one where almost everything rallied. That pattern points to crypto-native funds driving the recent price action, rather than institutional buyers stepping in.
Altcoins outpace Bitcoin's gains
Pump.fun led notable alts, up 26.2% on the week. LayerZero rose 19.8%, and Sky and Aave each climbed double digits over the same period. Those tokens aren't meme coins — they're protocols that generate revenue, and most of them run buyback programs.
The SEC said eight days ago that buying back a native token doesn't make it a security, as long as the underlying network functions. That has made it easier for investors to buy into revenue-generating protocols than before. Other top alt movers included ADA, up 11%, FET, up 12%, ENA, up 10%, and LIT, up 8%.
A four-year cycle faces a key date
Today also marks a notable date in Bitcoin's cycle: the historic four-year pattern would bottom today, based on the October 6, 2025 all-time high and a 364-day top-to-bottom timeline that has played out in the past two cycles. If there are no significant negative developments today or this week, the last remaining bears would be forced to capitulate, according to Decrypt's Morning Minute newsletter.
The bull market would then officially be underway, the newsletter argues.
