Bitcoin is stuck between $77,000 and $77,400 this weekend after a volatile week that saw it spike to $82,400 and then slide to a multi-week low of $76,000. Meanwhile, altcoin Lisk (LSK) has surged 325% in a day and 800% over the week, becoming the market's standout mover.

Bitcoin Fights to Hold $77,000

Bitcoin is range-bound between $77,000 and $77,400 this weekend, extending a sluggish pattern seen in prior weekends. The coin rocketed to $82,400 for the first time since mid-May earlier in the week before it was rejected and driven under $79,000 following the release of the US jobs report.

The following days were calmer, with bitcoin holding between $80,000 and $77,600. However, Thursday and Friday changed that picture. The lower boundary gave way first, and bitcoin slipped to $77,000. Then the release of August's CPI numbers sent shockwaves through the market, driving bitcoin down to a multi-week low of $76,000.

Bulls then pushed the coin back up to $79,800 within an hour, but another rejection returned it to $77,000, where it has traded sideways since. Its market cap has retreated to under $1.55 trillion on CoinMarketCap, while its dominance over the wider market sits at 58.7%.

Lisk Leads a Mixed Altcoin Market

Most larger-cap alts posted minor losses. Ethereum climbed to nearly $2,700 on Friday before stalling and now fights to stay above $2,500, while BNB fell 1.3% to $722. XRP remains below the key $1.40 level, and SOL, TRX, DOGE, XMR, and LINK are also slightly in the red.

Among smaller movers, RAIN gained over 2%, CRO added 3%, and PUMP rose 6%, while BTW jumped 11% to over $0.55. But the biggest gain belongs to Lisk, which exploded 325% in a day to $0.82, extending an 800% weekly surge. The total crypto market cap held roughly flat at $2.64 trillion on CoinMarketCap.
