Cardano jumped 4.43% to $0.19 on August 4, ranking among the day's biggest altcoin gainers alongside Hyperliquid. CoinMarketCap data show ADA's trading volume up 33%, while Santiment points to long-term holders accumulating since ADA's June low and an upcoming network upgrade lifting sentiment.
Cardano (ADA) rose 4.43% to trade at $0.19 on August 4, ranking among the biggest gainers in the crypto market. ADA's trading volume climbed 33% to $729 million, according to CoinMarketCap data. The total crypto market cap rose 0.97% to $2.17 trillion as Cardano and Hyperliquid (HYPE) led the gains among altcoins.
Santiment data show Cardano standing out in what the firm calls a "disappointing and choppy altcoin market", because stronger buyers have kept buying ADA since the price touched an all-time low of $0.138 on June 25. Still, not every seller from June has come back: the number of ADA holders has dropped by 7,070, Santiment notes, as some of those who sold during the price decline remain on the sidelines.
The upcoming Leios upgrade is helping offset that caution. Santiment says the upgrade could support a strong gain for ADA even if early holders remain hesitant to return.
