Cardano struck its first cross-chain link to Injective, moved governance votes on-chain, and lost EMURGO from Intersect's board — all within a week that saw ADA touch a one-month high. The token has since pulled back as traders book profits after a weekend rally.
Cardano's ADA climbed to a one-month high near $0.195 on August 4, a week that also brought a new cross-chain link, an on-chain governance shift, and a board departure at EMURGO. The moves span the network's technical roadmap, its governance process, and its price action.
Cardano Links Up With Injective
The two networks completed their first connection through the Inter-Blockchain Communication protocol, deployed on testnet. Injective said the integration is designed to let ADA move into its ecosystem while INJ becomes available on Cardano. The testnet deployment creates a direct cross-chain rail and marks another step toward compatibility with networks outside Cardano's existing ecosystem.
Development Enters the Dijkstra Era
After finishing the van Rossem upgrade, which introduced improvements to Plutus performance, ledger consistency, and node security, developers turned to the upcoming Dijkstra era. Planned work there includes Nested Transactions and Linear Leios, both targeted for mainnet by the end of this year.
Governance Moves On-Chain, EMURGO Exits Intersect
The network also moved the election of its Constitutional Committee onto the blockchain, making the process easier to verify and more transparent; the committee checks whether major governance decisions follow the Cardano constitution. A new portal now lets community members test how future changes to that constitution may be proposed, and ADA holders and their representatives can vote on a separate proposal to adjust some of the network's technical settings.
EMURGO, however, announced its immediate resignation from the Intersect board and plans to deregister its delegated representatives. The decision follows serious community criticism over governance participation and the delegation experience within Yoroi Wallet.
ADA Nears One-Month High Before Pullback
ADA rose from around $0.15 in late July to a one-month high of about $0.195 on August 4. That marked a weekly gain of roughly 26% at the time, though the token has since pulled back as traders book profits. The rally began over the weekend, when ADA jumped 9% and outperformed many large-cap altcoins.
One possible reason for the move was increased buying from large investors: whales accumulated more than 240 million ADA within five days. That stretch saw the token climb roughly 22%. ADA is now testing resistance between $0.19 and $0.20, and some analysts believe a break above that zone could open the way toward further gains. Still, the token needs to hold above $0.17 to protect its short-term structure.
