China's central bank purchased 50 billion yuan ($7.4 billion) worth of sovereign debt on a net basis in July through open market operations, the People's Bank of China said Tuesday.
That's an increase from the 10 billion yuan in net purchases recorded in June. The bank's other liquidity tools moved differently last month.
The PBOC issued no funds through its standing lending facility in July. It also conducted zero yuan through its pledged supplementary lending facility during the month.
At the same time, pledged supplementary lending operations posted a net withdrawal of 116.1 billion yuan for July. The central bank also injected 174.4 billion yuan on a net basis through other structural monetary policy tools during the same period.
