Coinbase and Deribit opened six equity perpetual futures markets on October 14, 2026, open to non-US traders only. Separately, an SEC official said at least four exchanges are expected to start trading perpetual futures on securities this quarter.
Coinbase and Deribit opened six new equity perpetual futures markets that give non-US traders round-the-clock leveraged exposure to stocks such as Oracle, Palantir and Dell. The launch went live on October 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM UTC.
Six markets, settled in USDC
The six markets cover CRWV, ORCL, SOXS, DELL, PLTR and SNXX, a mix of individual stocks and ETF-linked underlyings. SOXS tracks the Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bear 3X Shares ETF.
All six contracts settle in cash using USDC, so nobody receives actual shares. Profits and losses are paid out in digital dollars.
Because these contracts have no expiry, a funding mechanism keeps them anchored to the real stock price. If the perpetual trades above the underlying asset, longs pay shorts, and if it trades below, shorts pay longs.
Leverage and access limits
Leverage of up to 50x is available on some products, and at that level a 2% move against a position can wipe out the trader's posted margin. US persons are excluded because of regulatory restrictions.
The markets are listed on both platforms. Coinbase acquired Deribit in August 2025 for approximately $2.9 billion and completed the integration of the two platforms in early October 2026.
SEC official expects US launches this quarter
The US side of the market may follow soon. According to Finance Magnates, SEC official Selway said on 14 October: "I expect at least four to begin to trade perpetual futures on securities."
According to Finance Magnates, five CFTC-regulated exchanges, Coinbase, Kalshi, Bitnomial, NADEX and ICE Futures, submitted Form 1-N registration notices in September. The speech does not identify which four venues Selway expects to launch, and it leaves individual launch dates, leverage limits and settlement terms unspecified.
