Coinbase stock tokens hold within 0.6% of Friday prices as Aave collateral use stays unverified

Coinbase's new tokenized stock products for Apple, Alphabet, Meta and Nvidia kept trading through the weekend even though the underlying equities and their Chainlink price feeds did not update. A Sunday snapshot found the four tokens within roughly 0.6% of Friday's held reference values, while the official Aave V3 Base address book showed no live reserve for any of them, leaving Coinbase's marketed collateral use case unmeasured.

Coinbase's B20 stock tokens, AAPLc, GOOGLc, METAc and NVDAc, traded within roughly 0.6% of Chainlink reference values last updated Friday at 05:45-05:47 UTC on Aug. 30. The tokens confer beneficial claims on underlying shares held within Coinbase's tokenization structure and are designed for eligible users outside the United States. They trade continuously on Base even while Wall Street is closed.

Weekend prices tracked stale Chainlink feeds closely

The four leading Aerodrome USDC pools showed a snapshot of about $6.07 million in aggregate displayed liquidity and $7.08 million in aggregate 24-hour volume. The official Chainlink feed proxies returned Friday update times, ranging from 15:59:21 UTC for GOOGL to 19:10:19 UTC for META, because the feeds hold their last value over weekends and holidays. Comparing DEX Screener's rounded dollar prices against those held values produced gaps of +0.067% for AAPLc, -0.090% for GOOGLc, +0.384% for METAc and +0.556% for NVDAc, all under 0.6% at the cutoff.

Weekend traders chose prices close to the held equity references despite the absence of fresh primary-market price discovery. That behavior kept the measured dislocation contained, but the relevance to collateral use depends on how a lending application handles a reference feed that has stopped advancing.

Aave collateral use remains a marketing pitch, not a live market

Base's integration guide describes the launch tokens as running on Chainlink 24/5 total-return feeds, and Base has presented the tokens as usable collateral on Aave. However, a Sunday review of the official Aave V3 Base address book found no reserve, aToken, variable-debt token or Aave oracle entry for any of the four tokens. An Aug. 3 Aave governance proposal said the initial assets and risk framework for V4 on Base would be finalized and published later, leaving the B20 asset list and its risk controls unresolved.

No live values therefore exist for a B20 loan-to-value ratio, liquidation threshold, supply cap or borrow cap. Coinbase's product page says primary minting and redemption are limited to KYC-approved institutional partners and Authorized Participants. The NVDA prospectus separately defines a business day to exclude weekends and holidays for underlying settlement. A lending market for the tokens becomes measurable only once a venue publishes live B20 reserve parameters and users place debt against them.
