Coinbase will suspend trading for Badger DAO (BADGER) and Storj (STORJ) on Sept. 28, 2026, around 2 p.m. ET, after a routine review of its listed assets. Both order books already moved into limit-only mode, and customers will keep access to their balances and withdrawals once trading ends.

Coinbase will halt trading for BADGER and STORJ at approximately 2 p.m. ET on Sept. 28, 2026, across Coinbase.com Simple and Advanced Trade, Coinbase Exchange and Coinbase Prime. The exchange disclosed the move in an Aug. 28 announcement but did not name the technical, legal, compliance or market criteria behind it.

Coinbase said its listing standards drove the decision. According to Coinbase Markets: "We regularly monitor the assets on our exchange to ensure they meet our listing standards."

Order books move to limit-only mode

Coinbase has already shifted the BADGER and STORJ order books into limit-only mode ahead of the deadline. Customers can still place and cancel limit orders, and trades may execute when matching orders appear, but market orders are blocked.

The restriction applies across Coinbase's retail, professional and institutional services. After Sept. 28, customers will no longer be able to buy or sell either token on the affected platforms.

Balances stay withdrawable, no conversion planned

Coinbase has not announced an automatic conversion program for remaining BADGER or STORJ balances. That differs from its earlier handling of DAI, when eligible balances were scheduled for conversion into USDS after trading ended.

Customers will still be able to withdraw both assets, and Coinbase has not set a withdrawal deadline. BADGER is the governance token of Badger DAO, a project focused on bringing Bitcoin-linked assets into decentralized finance, while STORJ functions as a payment token within the Storj cloud-storage network.

BADGER slips as Coinbase plans a third September suspension

BADGER traded near $0.37 on Aug. 30, down about 4% over 24 hours, moving within an intraday range of roughly $0.365 to $0.385. STORJ traded near $0.074 over the same period, without a comparably clear announcement-linked move.

BADGER and STORJ are not Coinbase's only scheduled September suspensions. The exchange had already said IoTeX trading would end Sept. 23 at approximately 2 p.m. ET, following five token suspensions earlier in August that left withdrawals open for IDEX, LRC, OMNI, PIRATE and FIS.

Coinbase has not announced an appeal process or reconsideration period for BADGER or STORJ.
