The total crypto market capitalization grew by more than $130 billion over the past 30 days, with Bitcoin and Ethereum leading gains that lacked any clear catalyst. Altcoins, which held $666.58 billion in combined market cap at the start of July, appear to have joined the rally too.
The crypto market added more than $130 billion in market capitalization over the past 30 days, and no landmark regulation, corporate treasury news, or meme coin mania explains the move. Capital simply kept flowing in.
Bitcoin and Ethereum both climbed steadily
Bitcoin's market cap climbed from about $1.274 trillion on July 5 to around $1.33 trillion by July 24, a gain of roughly $56 billion in less than three weeks.
Ethereum also advanced. Its market cap rose from about $215 billion to approximately $233 billion over the same window, an $18 billion increase, or roughly 8.4% growth in under 20 days.
The altcoin market, excluding Bitcoin and Ethereum, stood at $666.58 billion as of early July. Given the total market's $130 billion gain over 30 days, and with Bitcoin and Ethereum accounting for only part of it, alts appear to have participated in the rally too.
No catalyst behind the move
There were no major corporate announcements or significant regulatory shifts during the period. The market simply moved higher day after day, without the burst typical of news-driven rallies.
What the steady gains could mean
Trading above a $1.3 trillion market cap puts Bitcoin firmly in the territory of a large-cap macro asset, where its moves increasingly correlate with broader liquidity conditions and institutional appetite rather than retail sentiment. Ethereum's roughly 8% gain over the same period suggests the appetite for risk may be broadening, after ETH spent much of the past cycle playing second fiddle to Bitcoin's narrative dominance.
