Dogecoin has dropped below its 100-day EMA near $0.0816, trading at $0.0808 and undoing one of the strongest gains of its August rally. Momentum has faded toward neutral, and a daily close below the current support cluster would open the door to a retest of levels last seen over the summer.
DOGE loses its key moving average
Dogecoin is currently trading at $0.0808, falling below the 100-day EMA near $0.0816 after failing to establish a sustainable reversal during its August rally. The loss matters because the same moving average's prior breakdown preceded June's decline toward $0.08 and the summer bottom around $0.069.
August's rally unwinds
In a few days, DOGE had shot up from about $0.07 to above $0.094, briefly testing the 200-day EMA at $0.0944. But buyers could not reclaim that longer-term average, and DOGE posted a series of lower highs that carried it back to the 100-day EMA it has now lost. It also sits close to its shorter-term moving average at $0.0805, forming a compressed support area between $0.080 and $0.082.
Downside levels in focus
A clear daily close below that cluster would greatly increase the likelihood of another move toward the 50-day EMA near $0.0752. The next downside target below that is the former consolidation zone, roughly between $0.069 and $0.072. Momentum has also faded: the RSI has declined toward 51 after a brief push into overbought territory during the August breakout, indicating the bullish momentum from that surge has mostly vanished rather than signaling oversold conditions.
Path back to stability
Reclaiming the 100-day EMA is now an urgent requirement for DOGE. A move back above $0.082 would stabilize the structure, with the next resistance area between $0.085 and $0.090. Until then, the failed 100-day EMA hold undermines the recovery thesis, and losing $0.08 would significantly increase the likelihood DOGE returns to its summer bearish structure.
