Ethereum futures trade near $1,860.50 after retreating from Sunday's high of $1,903.50, pressing against a defended support cluster between approximately $1,848.50 and $1,857.50. The setup carries a moderately bearish score of -4/+10, yet sellers have not forced accepted trading below $1,848.50. A close above $1,881.50 or sustained trade under $1,848.50 will decide the next leg.

Futures on the token are trading near $1,860.50 after retreating from Sunday's high at $1,903.50. Short-term structure stays bearish, with failed rebounds and accepted value drifting toward the lower end of the recent range. However, Ethereum is now pressing a support level that has repeatedly held.

Sellers press $1,852 but the level has not broken

On July 30, Ethereum futures reached $1,946 but closed near $1,921, even though buying activity was strongly positive. Ether then fell through the $1,900 area toward $1,852, and Friday's rebound from near $1,849-$1,852 reached $1,881.50 before buyers failed to sustain the repair.

Sunday's reopening rally reached $1,903.50 before being rejected, and the point of control has since shifted from near $1,872 toward $1,860.50. Still, one of the heaviest selling bars tagged $1,852 and recovered to close at $1,858.50, a sign sellers may be losing momentum even as the broader trend stays down.

Bullish repair needs $1,881.50

Acceptance above $1,881.50 would show buyers reversing the recent downward migration of value. From there, partial-profit targets sit at $1,888, then $1,898-$1,900, followed by $1,909-$1,911 and $1,919.50. A stronger recovery through $1,933-$1,935 would reopen the path toward the prior monthly value-area high near $1,968, the July 27 high at $1,981.50, and the psychologically important $2,000 level.

Bearish continuation needs $1,848.50

Confirmed bearish acceptance requires sustained trade beneath $1,848.50 and a failure to reclaim $1,849-$1,852, rather than a brief dip below the level. Daily support near $1,848.50-$1,850 aligns with several earlier highs, lows and opening-price references, so a clean break points first to $1,844.50-$1,840, then $1,837.50-$1,833, with $1,822-$1,820 possible if selling accelerates. A deeper failure of that resistance zone could eventually open a higher-timeframe test near $1,788-$1,780, which includes the previous monthly value-area low and the approximate location of the earlier bull-flag breakout.

Between the two gateways, Ethereum stays compressed and vulnerable to two-sided moves. Holding $1,852 does not make the market bullish; it only means sellers have failed to extend the decline so far.
