Ethereum has climbed back above its 200-day EMA band after an 11% recovery from late-October lows. Binance's Estimated Leverage Ratio has also reached a five-month high, which could make the next move more volatile.
ETH has recovered from below $2,200 in late October to approximately $2,430, an 11% rise that puts it back above its 200-day EMA band. But the derivatives market is sending a warning alongside the rally.
Ethereum has gained roughly 11% and now sits above the EMA band, so higher price targets are back in play.
Price targets of $2,600 and $2,800
A sustained advance could push ETH toward $2,600, with $2,800 emerging as another potential target.
Still, the $2,200 level has become crucial. If ETH fails to defend it and the former support turns into resistance, a breakdown could expose $2,000 or even $1,800.
Binance leverage ratio at a five-month high
Onchain data shows Ethereum's Estimated Leverage Ratio on Binance has climbed to its highest reading in five months. The indicator measures open futures positions relative to ETH reserves held on the exchange, and its rise suggests traders are using more leverage and taking on greater derivatives exposure.
That is not automatically bullish. The ratio does not reveal whether positions are predominantly long or short, so treating it as confirmation of further upside would be premature.
Higher leverage makes the market more sensitive to sudden price movements. If ETH moves against crowded positions, liquidations could accelerate volatility and undermine the recovery. Bulls need to protect $2,200 while managing the risk that Binance's rising leverage ratio highlights.
