Ethereum is stuck in a tight range around $1.9K, caught between its 100-day moving average and a $2.06K-$2.15K resistance band above. An ascending trendline is still holding on the 4-hour chart, but repeated failures near $1.95K-$1.98K show buyers lack the momentum to break higher.
Ethereum remains trapped in consolidation, with price hovering around $1.9K on the daily chart right where the 100-day moving average currently passes through. Neither buyers nor sellers have taken control, leaving ETH in a neutral phase despite its recovery from the June lows.
Daily chart shows a stalled recovery
The $2.06K-$2.15K zone stands as the first major resistance above current price, with the longer-term moving average also converging on that region. A decisive breakout above it would signal a bullish structural shift. On the downside, the nearest support sits around $1.81K-$1.84K, and losing that area could eventually expose the much more significant $1.53K-$1.57K demand zone.
Four-hour range keeps buyers boxed in
On the shorter timeframe, ETH is oscillating between the $1.80K-$1.84K demand zone and the $1.95K-$1.98K resistance area, with price currently near the middle of that range at roughly $1.89K. An ascending trendline underneath recent price action is still acting as dynamic support, and it briefly held during a selloff that tested the $1.86K-$1.87K region before buyers stepped back in.
However, buyers have repeatedly struggled to clear the upper boundary. A successful breakout could let ETH extend toward the upper edge of the broader ascending channel around $2K and above. A breakdown below the trendline, by contrast, would put renewed pressure on the $1.80K-$1.84K support and could open the door to a deeper correction.
Liquidation map points to the same resistance
The two-week liquidation heatmap shows the most prominent concentration of leveraged positions sitting around $1.94K-$1.95K, almost directly overlapping the technical resistance on the 4-hour chart. A push through recent highs could trigger short liquidations there and potentially accelerate a move higher. Slight liquidation liquidity also sits below the market around the $1.80K-$1.85K region, meaning a downside sweep cannot be ruled out if the trendline fails.
A clean break of either level would decide which way ETH moves next.
