Houthi militants struck several Saudi airports, killing at least 14 people in what Saudi Arabia experienced as its deadliest attacks since the Iran conflict began. Prediction markets now price a higher chance of a formal Saudi airspace closure.

Saudi Arabia suffered its deadliest attacks since the Iran conflict began, as Houthi militants targeted multiple airports and caused at least 14 fatalities. The Iran-aligned Houthi movement claimed the strikes.

Airports hit and operations suspended

Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport and Dammam's King Fahd International Airport were among those hit, and operations at affected airports were suspended. The escalation marks a shift from isolated incidents to sustained assaults on civilian infrastructure, according to the report.

Saudi authorities confirmed further targeting and pledged a response.

Footage of the Riyadh attack

Saudi authorities have released CCTV footage of the October 10 attack on King Khalid International Airport, which left 13 people dead and more than 300 injured. Yemen's Houthi movement claimed that strike too.

Markets price airspace risk

Markets reacted, and the implied probability of a formal closure of Saudi airspace rose. Market pricing shows a 7.5% probability of closure by November 1, up from 6%, and 18% for January 1, 2027.

The source says observers should monitor the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation and Saudi Air Navigation Services for any announcement on closures or restrictions.
