Yemen's Houthi movement said it fired missiles at two Saudi oil tankers on Wednesday, one off the Red Sea port city of Yanbu and another in the Gulf of Aden. Saudi Arabia has not confirmed either attack, and the Houthis' spokesperson gave no timing for the strikes.

Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis said Wednesday they fired a missile at a Saudi oil tanker off the Red Sea port city of Yanbu. The group said it also launched a separate missile attack on a Saudi oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden. Yet Saudi Arabia has not confirmed either attack.

The Houthis' military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, announced the strikes but did not say when they took place, leaving the timing of both incidents unclear.

The reported strikes come a month into a broader confrontation at sea. The Houthis have imposed a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea since last month, a step the group says responds to what it describes as a Saudi siege on Yemen. Riyadh has denied that allegation.
