Matter Labs launched Prividium Commander, a product that lets banks, exchanges and clearing houses set rules for digital asset transactions. Its revenue goes to Matter Labs, not ZKsync tokenholders, while the ZK token has fallen 28% over 30 days.
Matter Labs introduced Prividium Commander at Money20/20 USA in Las Vegas, a product that lets banks, exchanges and clearing houses set rules for digital asset transactions, approve or block them, and keep a record of each decision. The product is generally available from launch.
Revenue stays with Matter Labs
Tokenholders do not share in Commander's income. Asked whether any revenue reaches ZK holders, CEO Alex Gluchowski told The Defiant: "Commander is a Matter Labs product, and for now, its revenue goes to Matter Labs."
However, tokenholders are funding the roadmap behind the product. In a vote that closed June 15, the ZKsync Token Assembly approved 67 million ZK a month for 12 months, about 804 million ZK, to a Matter Labs multisig.
ZK fell 2% over 24 hours and 28% over 30 days, according to CoinGecko, and its market value is about $165 million. ZKsync Era holds $14.5 million in total value locked, down from a $273 million peak on Feb. 1, 2025, DefiLlama data shows.
How Commander works
Commander checks each transaction request against an institution's own rules and records the decision, including refusals. Operations teams can see who attempted a transfer, which rules were checked and why it was denied.
Bank staff reach the product through existing corporate accounts in identity systems such as Okta. Commander also runs on blockchains Matter Labs does not operate, including private networks such as Hyperledger Besu and public chains, so an institution does not need to move to a ZKsync chain.
Prividium Ledger, the zero-knowledge chain Matter Labs built for private financial applications, is optional. Institutions that adopt it later keep Commander and their integrations, according to The Defiant.
Institutions onboarded, but unnamed
Gluchowski said large financial institutions like major clearing houses and exchanges are already onboarded, though Matter Labs is not naming them yet. The company does not publish a price list.
Commander is the first product Matter Labs has shipped since June, when it cut staff and committed the business to Prividium.
