OSL Digital Securities opened spot XRP trading to retail investors in Hong Kong on July 29, 2026, becoming the first Securities and Futures Commission-licensed platform in the city to do so. XRP joins Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana as the only four tokens the venue approves for retail trading. The listing arrives as XRP spot ETFs reach $1.49 billion in cumulative inflows.
Hong Kong retail investors can now buy XRP directly on a licensed exchange. OSL Digital Securities, a subsidiary of publicly listed OSL Group (HKEX: 863), confirmed the launch on X, making it the first SFC-licensed platform in the city to grant everyday investors direct spot access to XRP.
The exchange opened two retail-accessible routes at launch: Flash Trade XRP/USD, and OTC pairs XRP/USD and XRP/HKD, all settled on the XRP Ledger. That places XRP alongside Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana as the only four tokens approved for retail trading on the platform.
An HKD pair opens a licensed fiat route into XRP
Access widens from the December 2025 professional-investor listing, when OSL HK restricted XRP to institutional and high-net-worth clients through Flash Trade pairs including XRP/HKD, XRP/USD, and XRP/USDT.
The HKD pair creates a fiat on-ramp in one of Asia’s deepest financial centers, giving Hong Kong residents a fully licensed path to buy XRP without relying on offshore platforms. OSL holds Type 1 and Type 7 SFC licenses, plus AMLO registration, and carries $1 billion in client asset insurance.
ETF inflows and XRPL asset growth frame the listing
Asian venues have been expanding compliant access to XRP while U.S. regulators keep drafting legislation. The listing lands at a time when XRP spot ETFs extended an eight-week inflow streak, reaching $1.49 billion in cumulative inflows.
Tokenized real-world assets on the XRP Ledger point the same way. They have grown from around $150 million a year ago to over $4 billion, as tracked by Evernorth.
RLUSD, Ripple’s stablecoin, also saw a 45% supply expansion in Q1 2026, per Messari data. Yet U.S. market structure stays unresolved: CLARITY Act discussions continue to move slowly through Congress, even as Asia builds regulated infrastructure now.
