Robinhood unveiled AI-driven trading agents built into its mobile app and confirmed that eligible U.S. traders will soon access crypto perpetual futures on bitcoin and ethereum with leverage up to 10x. The rollout, announced at Robinhood's HOOD Summit, also includes weekend equities trading pending regulatory approval.
Robinhood will let eligible U.S. traders open crypto perpetual futures positions on bitcoin and ethereum with leverage up to 10x, offered through Robinhood Derivatives in partnership with Bitstamp. The move came alongside a broader product push the company detailed at its annual HOOD Summit.
Robinhood Agents bring AI into the app
Robinhood introduced "Robinhood Agents," a feature that lets users build, customize, and deploy AI trading agents directly on their phones using models from developers such as OpenAI. The feature follows a preliminary May launch that let users connect external third-party software.
According to the company, more than 150,000 customers have opened agentic trading accounts since the initial rollout, generating roughly 30 million automated actions daily. The agents operate only within dedicated accounts that carry adjustable safety parameters, including a default requirement for manual trade approval.
CEO Vlad Tenev told attendees the company is "making Robinhood the best place in the world for active traders". Robinhood also announced "Loops," an upcoming feature that lets agents execute standing instructions continuously around the clock, and "Agent Apps," which equips the AI tools with institutional market data from providers including Nasdaq, Spotgamma, Unusual Whales, and Token Terminal.
Weekend trading and crypto derivatives expand
Robinhood signaled a shift toward round-the-clock markets, announcing plans for 24/7 stock trading pending regulatory approval. The plan builds on the Robinhood 24 Hour market launched in 2023, extending access through weekends for a curated selection of equities and exchange-traded funds. The weekend framework will run on Bruce ATS, an institutional-grade alternative trading system.
Chief Brokerage Officer Steve Quirk framed the launch around market events that fall outside standard trading hours. Ahead of the third-quarter earnings season, Robinhood is also introducing binary earnings contracts via Cboe, letting users trade predictions on company-specific financial benchmarks and quarterly metrics.
