The Senate still has no scheduled floor vote for the CLARITY Act as lawmakers head into their August recess, and that day's session covers a separate funding bill instead. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP traders are watching for regulatory progress after Polymarket cut the bill's odds of becoming law in 2026 to 30%.
Vote Still Missing From the Senate Calendar
The Senate reconvenes on August 3, but its evening session that day is set for H.R. 6500, a continuing resolution unconnected to crypto policy. H.R. 3633, the CLARITY Act, has not yet been given a cloture motion or a final floor vote date.
Crypto's total market capitalization stood at $2.18 trillion on August 2, driven by advancements in U.S. crypto regulation. Bitcoin held above $63,000 while Ethereum stood around $1,870 as traders watched developments in Washington.
Committee Work Brought the Bill This Far
The legislation has already covered real ground. It cleared the House by a 294-134 margin in July 2025. It then passed the Senate Banking Committee 15-9 in May 2026. On July 22, Senator Cynthia Lummis published a revised text combining work from the Banking and Agriculture committees.
Lummis told crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett that Senate leadership is still trying to bring the bill up before lawmakers leave for recess. Committee approval, however, does not guarantee a final floor vote.
Democrats Hold the Key to Sixty Votes
Clearing a cloture motion needs 60 votes. Republicans hold 53 seats in the Senate. The bill likely needs at least seven Democratic votes to clear that procedural threshold.
Crypto commentator Conor Kenny said the White House was expected to announce within hours whether it would approve a bipartisan ethics proposal tied to the bill, a decision he said would determine if the Senate moves to a floor vote next week.
Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP Levels to Watch
Bitcoin traded at $63,211, above the closely watched $62,000-to-$63,000 zone. Continued strength could lift it toward $64,100, then $65,000 and $66,000, but a loss of $62,000 could undermine the recovery.
Ethereum changed hands around $1,870 after remaining under pressure. Breaking above $1,900 opens the way toward $1,950 and then $1,970, while losing $1,800 could invite further selling.
XRP traded around $1.07, close to its immediate pivot at $1.06. A move above $1.10 would target $1.13 and then $1.20, but weakness below $1.06 could send it back to the $1.00 support level.
