Solana has retaken the daily DEX volume lead from Robinhood Chain, the network that overtook it just weeks after its July launch. Solana posted $3.25 billion in 24-hour decentralized exchange volume against Robinhood Chain's $2.72 billion, a gap of roughly $530 million.
It has reclaimed the top spot in daily decentralized exchange volume, edging out Robinhood Chain after the newer network briefly seized the lead earlier this summer. Solana logged $3.25 billion in 24-hour DEX volume, compared with Robinhood Chain's $2.72 billion, according to DefiLlama data.
A fast-moving challenger
Robinhood Chain launched its mainnet on July 1, 2026, and within weeks the network briefly overtook Solana in daily DEX trading volume. The initial surge was fueled by meme coin mania mixed with Robinhood Chain's stated purpose of tokenizing real-world assets. Even during that stretch, however, Solana's weekly and monthly aggregates remained competitive, suggesting the newer chain's lead owed more to speculative bursts than to organic ecosystem depth.
Why the lead matters
The $3.25 billion figure reflects an ecosystem that has weathered multiple market cycles, chain outages, and the FTX collapse. Solana's DEX infrastructure, anchored by protocols including Jupiter, Raydium, and Orca, benefits from years of accumulated liquidity and developer tooling. Robinhood Chain, by contrast, has accumulated cumulative DEX volume exceeding tens of billions of dollars since its July launch, but its longer-term trading metrics still trail Solana's head start.
Robinhood Chain's meme coin problem
Robinhood Chain was designed around tokenized real-world assets, yet a significant portion of its DEX activity has come from meme coin trading. That pattern mirrors Solana's own trajectory: its DEX volumes exploded in late 2023 and 2024 largely on meme tokens like BONK and WIF before the network diversified into broader DeFi activity. Robinhood Chain operates as an Ethereum Layer-2 built with Arbitrum technology, integrating services such as Uniswap and supporting trading of tokenized equities. Still, a network generating $2.72 billion in daily DEX volume less than three months after launch has clearly found product-market fit with a segment of traders.
