Strive bought 3,311 bitcoin between October 5 and October 9, lifting its treasury to 32,773 BTC. The purchase is the company's largest addition since January, and its cash balance also rose over the same week.
Strive added 3,311 bitcoin between October 5 and October 9, raising its corporate treasury from 29,462 BTC to 32,773 BTC. The company paid roughly $84,500 per bitcoin on average, including fees and expenses, according to an October 13 SEC filing.
Purchase worth about $280 million
The Block reported that the acquisition was worth approximately $280 million, based on the disclosed average price. The filing gives the quantity, the purchase period and the average cost, but it does not provide a separate current valuation for all 32,773 BTC.
The distinction matters for anyone tracking corporate treasuries. The $84,500 figure describes what Strive paid for this tranche, while the 32,773 BTC figure is the company's reported balance at October 9.
Largest increase since January
According to Yahoo Finance, the October purchase is Strive's largest addition to its holdings since January. The earlier, larger increase came through its all-stock merger with Semler Scientific, which added approximately 5,048 BTC.
The two additions differ in kind. The Semler deal grew holdings through a corporate combination, whereas the October filing records a specified purchase over five days at a stated average price.
Cash rises alongside bitcoin
Strive also reported $310.3 million in cash and cash equivalents as of October 9. That figure was $25.6 million higher than the amount reported on October 2, the company said in its SEC filing.
The filing does not attribute the change in cash to any particular financing activity, operating development or transaction.
