Strive added 469 Bitcoin to its treasury for $36.6 million, taking its total holdings to an even 25,000 BTC. The purchase was funded entirely through the company's SATA preferred stock, and CEO Matt Cole said the firm could potentially reach second place among public holders by year-end.

Strive bought 469 Bitcoin between Sep. 8 and Sep. 11 at an average price of about $77,954 per coin, a Form 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission shows. The $36.6 million purchase brought Strive's total holdings to an even 25,000 BTC, up from 24,531 BTC before the transaction.

SATA preferred stock funded the buy

CEO Matt Cole said 100% of the capital raised during the week came through sales of SATA, Strive's perpetual preferred stock, rather than common shares. SATA's notional issuance value has passed $1 billion, giving Strive a funding route that limits dilution of its Nasdaq-listed common stock, ASST.

Cole also said the company's amplification ratio rose to 53.5%, meaning Strive now carries about $53.50 in preferred equity and debt obligations for every $100 of bitcoin it holds. He shared the update on X, writing: "Wall-breaking season at Strive."

A slower pace than the prior week

The latest purchase marks a slowdown: Strive bought 1,375 BTC for about $109 million the week before. Before that, the company bought 1,800 BTC for about $143 million between Aug. 24 and Aug. 28 at an average of $79,431 per coin. Strive held just 14,557 BTC as recently as April.

Strive is now the world's fifth-largest public bitcoin holder, behind Strategy, Twenty One, Metaplanet and MARA. Cole has said the company could potentially reach second place by year-end, though he noted that is not his stated expectation. To pass Twenty One's 43,514 BTC, Strive would need another 18,515 BTC — about 1,234 BTC a week over the 15 weeks left in 2026.

Shares climb as bitcoin steadies

ASST shares rose more than 4% Monday, touching a year-to-date high near $29. The move came as bitcoin traded near $78,000 following a volatile Friday session, when it surged from around $76,000 to nearly $80,000 before falling back toward $77,000 within seven hours.

Strategy, the largest corporate bitcoin holder, left its holdings unchanged at 845,050 BTC for a second consecutive week, instead spending $139.3 million repurchasing its STRC preferred shares.
