VT Markets processed a record $8 trillion in trading volume during the first half of 2026, up 212% from a year earlier, with gold trading among the biggest drivers of the surge. The broker also added 350,000 first-time traders and expanded its US stock lineup during the period.

VT Markets processed $8 trillion in trading volume during the first half of 2026, a record for the broker. That marks a 212% increase from the same period a year earlier. Market volatility pushed activity across foreign exchange, precious metals and equity indices.

Gold Leads the Instrument Mix

The broker pointed to currency swings, changing interest rate expectations and geopolitical uncertainty as the forces shaping how traders positioned themselves during the six-month period. VT Markets said trading activity concentrated in gold and silver, alongside the EUR/USD and USD/JPY currency pairs. The NAS100 and DJ30 indices also ranked among the most actively traded instruments over the period.

Gold's pull on volume came alongside broader growth at the platform. VT Markets said active users rose 70% compared with the second half of 2025. It added that 350,000 traders placed their first trade on the platform during the six months.

A Continuation of Prior Records

The first-half figures extend a run of records at the broker. Finance Magnates reported in May 2025 that VT Markets logged $720 billion in monthly trading volume during April, a then-record. Earlier that year, the company also said its annual trading volume had increased 150%, alongside growth in deposits and first-time traders.

VT Markets tied part of the latest growth to product expansion, having added 39 US stocks and launched a loyalty programme for introducing broker partners during the half. The broker said it plans further products and platform features in the second half of 2026, including tools meant to extend trading access beyond traditional market hours. Last year, it also obtained a Category Five licence from the UAE's Securities and Commodities Authority, expanding its presence in the Middle East.
