World Liberty Financial's WLFI token fell as Democrats won control of both chambers of Congress, and it has recovered only part of the drop. Bitcoin regained its losses over the same hours, while TRUMP and MELANIA also stayed lower.
WLFI fell 11.3% from its early-evening level during the U.S. midterm count on Nov. 3. The token then recovered only part of the decline as bitcoin regained its losses, according to The Defiant.
WLFI lags as bitcoin recovers
Binance records show WLFI opening at 0.0512 USDT at 6 p.m. ET and touching 0.0454 USDT in the hour beginning at 7 p.m. By 5 a.m. ET on Nov. 4, it was back at 0.0486 USDT, still 5.1% below the starting level.
Bitcoin's reversal was more complete. It reached 78,400 USDT at 5 a.m., above its 6 p.m. opening price of 77,875.86 USDT.
Bitcoin.com News reported that at the time of writing, WLFI was still down almost 5% over 24 hours, trading at $0.049, while bitcoin was up more than 2% over the same period.
Other Trump-linked tokens stay lower
TRUMP opened at 1.596 USDT at 6 p.m. ET and stood at 1.491 USDT at 5 a.m., a decline of about 6.6%. On Kraken, MELANIA fell about 5.7%, from $0.0759 to $0.0716, over the same window, according to The Defiant.
Bitcoin.com News said the TRUMP and MELANIA meme coins plunged 8% and 11%, respectively, as election results pointed to a Republican defeat. It added that WLFI dropped 10%, reaching its all-time low.
Trump-linked tokens were already falling before the election. According to Bitcoin.com News, WLFI is down 85% from its all-time high, while TRUMP is down 98%.
The wider altcoin comparison
A selected, equal-weight basket of ether, SOL, XRP, BNB and DOGE rose 0.1% over the same window on Binance, according to The Defiant's calculation. The comparison establishes underperformance, but does not by itself isolate the election result as the cause.
