XRP broke its medium-term downtrend and climbed to $1.48, a daily gain of about 7%, after institutional buyers absorbed a sharp dip. On-chain data show large holders moved $2.2 billion into the token within 96 hours, and technical indicators now point toward the $1.50-$1.80 range.
XRP has climbed to $1.48, up about 7% on the day, after a wave of institutional buying absorbed a dip to $1.29 last week. The rebound stabilized the token's price alongside a broader strengthening of the altcoin market.
The earlier drop to that local low was technical and emotional rather than fundamental, according to the report. Retail reaction to regulatory debates in Washington proved short-lived, as XRP's status as a digital commodity remains unchanged, backed by the 2023 court precedent and regulatory guidance issued in March 2026.
Institutions absorb $2.2 billion during the dip
The slide toward psychological support levels drew in large holders. On-chain metrics show 1.54 billion XRP moved to institutional addresses within 96 hours of the dip, with total liquidity directed at buying the dip estimated at $2.2 billion. That inflow offset selling pressure and stabilized daily trading volume at around $92.6 million.
Technical signals point toward $1.80
The weekly chart on Bitstamp confirms the shift in market balance toward buyers, with the current weekly candle closing up 5.45% near $1.48716, a breakout above the long-term descending channel. The long-term TradingView oscillator has completed a crossover in its lower range, generating a technical buy signal and confirming a gradual momentum shift toward buyers. A block of buying interest has also formed in the $1.25-$1.38 range, built on volume accumulated in July and August.
XRP is now approaching a resistance level and its moving average near $1.50. A sustained move above that level could accelerate a rotation of capital from Bitcoin into liquid altcoins. Bitcoin itself is holding above $76,000. Such a shift would open the way for XRP to reach targets around $1.80.
