XRP exchange inflows reached a seven-month high in the 30 days to Oct. 19, while whale outflows fell to a five-year low, according to CryptoQuant. Smaller withdrawals also gained share on Binance.
More than 6 billion XRP reached exchanges tracked by CryptoQuant in the 30 days to Oct. 19, the most since March. Inflows totaled 6.05 billion XRP over the period and have doubled since mid-August.
Price swings as inflows climb
Over that stretch, XRP/USD rose from around $1 to a maximum of $1.70 before correcting to levels around $1.30. CryptoQuant said the rise in inflows could reflect increased trading activity and liquidity, or a rise in the movement of XRP between wallets and exchanges.
Whale outflows drop to the lowest since October 2021
Separate CryptoQuant analysis of exchange withdrawals by whales shows XRP is "attracting less and less attention", according to Cointelegraph's report on the data. CryptoQuant suggests large-volume investors may be waiting for more advantageous prices before increasing exposure.
The 90-day moving average of whale outflows hit a high of $3.5 billion in February 2025, shortly after XRP's all-time high at $3.40. Since then, whale outflows are down 98.6%, and the average now stands at $49.7 million, its lowest value since October 2021.
Smaller withdrawals gain share on Binance
On Binance, withdrawals below 10,000 XRP grew from just 3% to 19.7% of total outflow value between September 30 and October 20, the highest level since October 2024. Transfers above 1 million XRP, however, fell from 60% to 38.6% of Binance outflows, according to CryptoQuant.
Larger transfers still make up most of the activity: outflows above 100,000 units accounted for 65.7% of Binance's total XRP outflow value. Meanwhile, reserves rose across three major exchanges, which added 120 million XRP between October 5 and October 20, bringing combined holdings to 10.95 billion tokens from 10.83 billion.
CryptoQuant also noted XRP's resilience during the 2026 bear market, though it said the token could lack buying volume without whale support.
