RippleX will release xrpld v3.3.0 next week, adding five protocol amendments aimed at banks and tokenized-asset businesses on the XRP Ledger. Two of the features return after earlier versions were pulled over security concerns, and none go live until validators approve them.

RippleX plans to roll out xrpld v3.3.0 next week, a release built around five protocol amendments for tokenized assets, privacy, and institutional finance. The update is not yet live, but it could make the XRP Ledger more attractive to banks and businesses running on the network.

Five Amendments Target Institutional Use

Jazzi Cooper, RippleX's Head of Product, said the ledger has already shown it can support tokenized assets at scale, and that the new release aims to make those assets easier to transfer, trade, use as collateral, and settle. Cooper wrote: "XRPL has already proven it can support tokenized assets at scale."

The biggest addition, Batch Transactions, combines up to eight transactions into one package, where either all of them succeed or all of them fail. Permission Delegation lets businesses give employees or third parties limited account access without handing over full wallet control.

Confidential Multi-Purpose Tokens hide token balances and transaction amounts from public view, while still letting regulators or approved auditors see the data when needed. Sponsored Fees and Reserves let companies pay network fees on behalf of their users, meaning customers may no longer need to hold XRP just to use apps built on the ledger. Dynamic Multi-Purpose Tokens let issuers update certain token settings after launch instead of creating a new token.

Validators Must Approve Each Change First

Two of the five features are being restored after earlier versions were pulled once security audits found critical issues in them. Neither feature goes live simply because RippleX ships the code: under the ledger's governance process, each amendment needs at least 80% support from trusted validators for 14 straight days before it becomes part of the mainnet.

Just weeks ago, these features were still under development, while validators were mainly reviewing bug-fix updates for lending, vaults, permissioned exchanges, and multi-purpose tokens. If approved, the five amendments could strengthen the XRP Ledger's position among blockchains built for tokenized real-world assets.
