XRP climbed above $1.51 as its trading volume on South Korea's Upbit exchange overtook Bitcoin's. Continued inflows into U.S. spot XRP ETFs added further buying pressure, while trader Peter Brandt flagged a chart pattern that could point toward $2.
XRP rose over 1.5% to near $1.51 in the past 24 hours as trading activity surged in South Korea. On the Upbit exchange, the XRP/KRW pair recorded $72.3 million in 24-hour volume, ahead of Bitcoin's BTC/KRW pair at $66.4 million.
Korean Volume Surges Past Bitcoin
The jump in XRP's Upbit volume coincides with the launch of the XRP Asia organization during Korea Blockchain Week at the Grand Hyatt. The event may have added to local interest and helped drive trading activity.
ETF Inflows Add Buying Pressure
Institutional demand also supported the move. U.S. spot XRP ETFs recorded another $4.74 million in weekly net inflows, extending their positive streak to 12 consecutive weeks. Bitwise led the latest inflows with $2.11 million and has now logged more than $678.4 million in cumulative net inflows.
Brandt Flags a Possible Breakout Pattern
Veteran trader Peter Brandt's latest XRP chart shows a possible bullish reversal, with the token forming an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern around the $1.55 area. XRP is now testing the pattern's neckline, a level Brandt says could decide its next major move.
The setup has a left shoulder, a deeper low forming the head, and a higher right shoulder. Brandt's chart shows the next major resistance near $1.6572. A break above that level could open the way toward $1.70 and then the $2.00 region. His chart also compares the current setup with XRP's earlier long-term breakout patterns, including the structures that preceded its 2017 rally and its late-2024 move.
XRPL Upgrades Due Next Week
A key event in the coming days will be the expected launch of two XRP Ledger upgrades. The Batch (V1.1) and Permission Delegation changes are expected to go live around Oct. 8-9, 2026, and could make the network faster for large transactions and more useful for banks and other large companies.
