XRP is testing the $1.50 resistance zone that has capped its price for roughly 230 days, with traders watching whether the level flips to support. At the same time, a surge of XRP flowing into Binance and a pending XRPL ledger upgrade are adding to the token's momentum narrative.
XRP is once again pressing toward a price level that has repeatedly stopped its advances for months. Crypto trader Dom (@traderview2) flagged the zone after XRP tested its three-month and six-month rolling volume-weighted average prices as support this week.
The $1.50 level in focus
According to Dom, turning $1.50 from resistance into support matters more than any other near-term development. According to Dom: "Flipping $1.50 to support is still the only thing that matters here in the immediate", adding that such a move could open the door for a fierce move to $1.80 and above.
XRP has repeatedly encountered selling pressure around roughly $1.48 to $1.55 since February, with attempts to break through rejected in February, March, April and May. The latest rally pushed briefly above the zone, with an upside wick reaching toward $1.70, before sellers forced the price back beneath $1.50. XRP has stayed trapped beneath that level for roughly 230 days.
Futures open interest stood at approximately $3.18 billion, with 24-hour futures volume reaching $3.90 billion, compared with only about $717 million in spot volume. Open interest rose across major exchanges, with Binance XRP open interest up 3.15% and MEXC up 10.17%.
Binance inflows climb without signaling a sell-off
Separately, XRP deposits into Binance have picked up sharply. Daily inflows averaged 21.7 million XRP over the past week, driven by large deposits on the 11th, 16th and 17th of September. Despite the inflow spike, Binance's reserve rose only 0.34% over the same period, suggesting much of the incoming supply moved back out rather than sitting on the exchange.
XRPL upgrade nears activation
XRPL's Batch V1.1 upgrade, which lets users bundle up to eight transactions into a single atomic transaction, has cleared 85.71% validator approval, above the 80% threshold needed to activate within a 14-day window closing on the 29th of September. The network currently handles about 2.08 million transactions per day.
XRP's recovery has shown multiple higher lows since the 16th of September selloff, with RSI rising to 57.44 without entering overbought territory. Whether that momentum builds further depends on the same threshold Dom pointed to: the $1.50 zone that has held XRP back for months.
