Large XRP holders moved roughly 1.6 billion tokens to Binance over the past 30 days, the highest inflow level in about six months. The surge follows a month for XRP that included a 70% rally in August and an 8% drop on September 15.
XRP whale activity on Binance has jumped sharply. Large holders sent around 1.6 billion tokens to Binance over the past 30 days. CryptoQuant data shows this is the highest level seen in roughly six months.
Whale inflows rebound after months of decline
Whale inflows had been falling steadily after March, and the metric also reached low levels in May, June, and July. However, the trend started to change in August, and inflows have gained momentum in recent weeks.
The movement matters because XRP sent to an exchange becomes easier to trade, which can increase the amount of the asset available in the market in the short term. Yet large transfers to Binance do not automatically mean whales are preparing to sell — this cohort may move tokens to exchanges to prepare for trades, manage liquidity, or shift funds between wallets and exchanges.
August rally gave way to a September slide
XRP had a strong run last month, gaining around 70% during its August 17-21 rally. The move came as large wallets increased in number: Santiment found 85 new wallets holding at least 1 million XRP just two days before the sharp move, which suggested stronger demand and reduced available supply.
But the rally ended after the US Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act. XRP was among the biggest losers this week after an 8% plunge on September 15. The token briefly neared $1.25 before stabilizing near $1.33.
