Aptos's APT token rose 51.1% over the four weeks to Oct. 13, 2026, ahead of bitcoin and ether. Its weekly return was nearly flat, and the tracked stablecoin base on Aptos shrank over the same period.
APT gained 51.1% over four weeks to Oct. 13, 2026, far outpacing bitcoin and ether. Its return over the final seven days was just 0.8%.
The token rose from about $0.56 to $0.84 between Sept. 15 and Oct. 13, according to The Defiant's calculations using CoinGecko data. Bitcoin gained 9.5% and ether 4.5% over matched windows, while Solana's SOL rose 10.1%. Sui's SUI gained 52.6%, slightly exceeding APT.
APT holds up in the final week
Over the last week, every other token in the comparison fell, with SOL and SUI down more than 10%. However, APT's nearly flat weekly return masks fluctuations: it was 5.8% below its 3 a.m. ET reading on Oct. 12.
Stablecoin base contracts
The gain did not coincide with an expanding stablecoin base. DefiLlama's Aptos series shows tracked USD-pegged assets falling 17.5%, from $1.103 billion to $909.6 million, between Sept. 15 and Oct. 13. These balances measure assets onchain, not payment volume.
Aptos Foundation also reaffirmed on Oct. 8 its February pledge to lock and permanently stake 210 million APT. According to the Foundation, as reported by The Defiant: "Those tokens will never be sold or distributed." The commitment would fund Foundation operations with staking rewards rather than sales of the locked tokens.
The Foundation's February plan says the four-year unlock cycle for initial investors and core contributors ends in October 2026, reducing annualized supply unlocks by 60%.
