The exchange launched its first TradFi perpetual contracts on January 8, 2026, with gold (XAUUSDT) and silver (XAGUSDT). It then moved into equities with tickers such as GEV, VRT, and SNOW, which bolstered its market hold.
Perpetual contracts on traditional assets let traders speculate on the future prices of commodities and stocks without expiry. Leverage options run up to 25-50x the original investment.
In Q2 2026, Binance led with about $380 billion in TradFi perp trading volume. Gold-linked perpetuals accurately indicated traditional market openings at an 89% rate for Mondays.
But competitors are snapping at its heels. Bitget took nearly $70 billion in TradFi perp volume during Q2 2026.
