U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs have pulled in just $205 million in net inflows this July, on track for the smallest monthly total since the funds launched. Ether funds fared far better over the same stretch, while bitcoin and ether prices barely moved after the Federal Reserve held interest rates steady.

Bitcoin spot ETFs have pulled in just $205 million in net inflows this July, the lowest monthly total on record, according to SoSoValue data. Two trading days remain in the month, but the tally already trails far behind $2.43 billion in outflows in May and $4.52 billion in June.

Ether outpaces bitcoin and other crypto funds

Ether ETFs have attracted $342.85 million in July, almost matching April's total and outperforming bitcoin and other crypto funds this month. XRP funds are on track for a fourth straight month of inflows, though the sum remains modest at $13.61 million, while Solana ETFs have drawn $13.82 million. Together, the numbers paint a picture of limited institutional appetite at best. Ether's stronger haul lines up with its price performance against bitcoin: the Binance-listed ether-bitcoin pair has climbed 11% this month.

Prices hold steady after a hawkish Fed hold

Neither bitcoin nor ether moved decisively in the past 24 hours, even after the Federal Reserve delivered what some analysts described as a hawkish hold that might have argued for a decline. Volatility could still pick up later Thursday, when the U.S. releases core PCE inflation and GDP data.

Bitcoin's daily chart also shows Bollinger Bands at their tightest since at least January, a squeeze that often precedes a sharp move once the range finally breaks. According to Marex analysts, bitcoin's 200-week moving average near $63,300 is acting as a key marker: holding above it reads as strength, while a drop below $62,500 could open the way toward a $60,000 target for bears.
