Spot Bitcoin ETFs swung back into net outflows last week after a brief recovery, with Fidelity and BlackRock's funds leading the retreat as Bitcoin's price struggled to hold above resistance. Ethereum ETFs followed the same pattern, while XRP and Solana ETFs drew inflows even as the Dogecoin ETF also recorded an outflow.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $390 million in net outflows last week, according to SoSo Value data, after recovering for a few weeks. Fidelity's FBTC posted the highest outflows at $153.1 million. BlackRock's IBIT followed with $129.1 million in outflows.
Morgan Stanley's fund loses momentum
The other ETFs also mostly saw outflows on certain days, while some days recorded zero flows. Morgan Stanley's MSBT had been running a consistent inflow streak months ago even as cumulative Bitcoin ETFs saw outflows. However, MSBT has now lost its momentum too, recording $7.1 million in outflows in the past week.
Bitcoin struggles below $65,000
During this stretch, Bitcoin's price fell from around $64,000 to $63,256.11 at press time. The price action has struggled to keep above the resistance level of $65,000, which has been responsible for the ETF pullback.
Despite Bitcoin's downtrend, Tudor Investment, owned by Paul Tudor Jones, is expanding its direct exposure to Bitcoin through BlackRock's IBIT ETF. In Q2, the firm increased its IBIT holdings by 19%, reaching 688,529 shares by quarter's end, valued at about $23 million. Its put position stayed mostly the same, but it cut its reported IBIT call options by 85%.
Ethereum ETFs mirror Bitcoin's slide
Spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $2.26 million in net outflows in the past week. BlackRock's ETHA led those outflows with $16.39 million. Grayscale's ETH fund was the only one to see inflows, worth $15.1 million over that stretch.
Ether's price fell from $1,900 to $1,893.39 in the last week, tracking a pattern similar to Bitcoin's. The price acted as a catalyst that pushed Ethereum ETFs into outflows.
Smaller altcoin ETFs draw inflows
XRP ETFs recorded $2.25 million in inflows even as Bitcoin and Ethereum struggled. The Solana ETF logged the largest inflow of the group at $10.26 million. The only altcoin outflow came from the Dogecoin ETF, worth $564.84K.
This comes after AMBCrypto previously reported that roughly 1,470 ETFs could launch by the end of 2026 if the current launch rate holds, compared with the previous record of about 1,050 new ETFs set in 2025. The crypto market is sitting in the "Fear" zone at 31, matching this week's outflows across the major Bitcoin and Ethereum funds.
